Nokia makes more money from its Patents than by its Lumia Windows Phones

The change in strategy based on switching to Windows Phone, strongly wanted by CEO Stephen Elop, Nokia still is not producing the desired results.
So while the Finnish manufacturer has seen Samsung take the scepter of the phone market leader, the latest financial results showed alarming numbers, since Nokia managed to sold only  11.9 million smartphones (51% less than the same period of 'previous year).

Many experts and analysts believe the first fruits of the collaboration with Microsoft does not arrive before the end of 2012, others just attack Nokia CEO Elop for some months, but as usual time will tell if Nokia did the right move jumping the WP train
Meanwhile, evidence that the Lumia Windows Phone can surely do better, as has been reported on AppleInsider , Nokia has recently earned more from the Apple smartphones than from its Lumia Windows Phones ,because Apple has in fact paid $ 600 million to pay the royalties for some key patents used on iPhone and iPad.
Payments for patents are not a novelty: Apple had to pay another $ 550 million for the licenses of Google services, while Big G has recently purchased Motorola Mobility for 12.5 billion dollars by securing a large number of essential patents.

  1. I use both a Samsung Android 2.3.4 Tablet and a Samsung Windows Phone7.5. After using both for more than a year now, I much prefer the interface and the integration of the Windows Phone and wish my Android Tablet had the same interface, every time I use it.

I can't wait for Windows to emerge into the tablet market. I'm probably hoping against hope, but it would be great if I could simply update my current tablet to the next version of Windows. I believe that integration with Windows desktops and laptops, driven by business will see Windows taking over more and more of the tablet and smartphone market over time.
