Here is small list, published by colleagues WPCentral through their experiences with different Windows  Phone device running Tango:

• New wallpapers – Now including those new “nature” themed wallpapers in the Tango ROM
• Faster numeric PIN response – At least on our 8112 devices (Titan II, Focus 2, Lumia 900), when we would attempt to unlock our PIN on our phone it would sometimes be very slow and not register, requiring you to re-enter the number. While minor, it was annoying. That was fixed by updating all our devices.

Nokia to produce more cheap Windows Phones to counter low-end Android devices

During a conference call held earlier by Stephen Elop, organized to answer questions from investors and analysts about the new policy actions , this morning Nokia , has reiterated its full support and the adoption of Windows Phone for its smartphones, a reliable operating system that will allow them to regain lost market share.

Tango update for Nokia Lumia 800 and HTC Trophy approved by Vodafone Australia

Vodafone Australia was working to approve the update to Windows Phone Tango for its branded smartphone.

Rumor - Samsung ready to bring to the market a version of the Galaxy W with Windows Phone?

Nokia Lumia 710 is now ever closer to Tango upgrade

Upgrading to Windows Phone Tango for the Nokia Lumia 710 is fast approaching. To confirm a recent examination of the firmware is present at NaviFirm which include updates to Tango for Lumia 710 marketed in various geographical areas and are distributed through various national telephone operators. As we know, Tango is a version of Windows Phone designed for entry-level device such as Lumia 610, but will also be released to the terminals with more powerful hardware, introducing some welcome news as, for example, the WiFi sharing feature still absent in Nokia Lumia 710.

RainbowMod - First custom ROM for Nokia Lumia 800

After RanbowMod Lumia for Nokia 710 , the Custom ROM based on Tango, which allows a wide range of device customization, here comes one for the Nokia Lumia 800.The author is the same lucifer3006 from XDA , which has created a version of RainbowMod ROM for the Chinese version of Lumia 800 with firmware revision  1750.805.8773.12140 (Tango).

The market share of Windows Phone in China goes to 7% in just two months, thanks to Nokia Lumia 800C

Even in the great China, as it happened in USA, Lumia Nokia devices are getting excellent sales results. As reported by Michel van der Bel , the Vice President of Microsoft, the market share of Windows Phone in China has risen to 7% in just two months , outstripping iPhone share which is stuck at 6%.

Nokia Reading will be preinstalled on Nokia Lumia smartphones with Windows Phone Tango on board

The Nokia Lumia 610 has arrived in China (Unboxing)

Announced at the Mobile World Congress last February, the Nokia Lumia 610 is now on sale in China. The low cost Windows Phone device of the Finnish giant,  completes the first steps into the vast Chinese market, very important test for Nokia that puts high hopes on this smartphone sales to recover and regain lost market share in last month.

Windows Phone Tango will be released in June?

The site  mimovilwindows said to have received some news on the release of a Windows Phone Tango for existing smartphones from a reliable source. According to reports, upgrade to Tango is ready and pending approval from the manufacturers and mobile operators. The build of this new version should be the Zune through 8773 and the release should arrive at the beginning of the month of June 2012 .

Another info that we can read on the site is that Microsoft probably decided to move the release of Windows Phone Tango expected this month in the month of June, to allow more time for all operators to approve the update and release it all in a very limited time.

Nokia getting ready for Lumia 710 Tango OS update for China

Here comes the Nokia service server upgrade to Windows Phone Tango for Nokia Lumia  710.Using the software Navifirm , here is revealed the first official build of Windows Phone Tango (Build 8173) for the Nokia Lumia 710. It seems that  this update via Navifirm is reserved for the devices released in China, a sign that that the release of the update is not that far.


This new software version is accompanied by a new firmware identified by version number 1600.3029.8773.12111 . As happened in the past, the arrival of this new version on Nokia servers, a few weeks ahead of the official release via Zune.


Recall that Windows Phone Tango has been optimized to work with device using 256MB of RAM, bringing small improvements such as support for multiple attachments in multimedia messages, view and export tracking and management of contacts on the SIM.

Samsung Minuet - Windows Phone Tango smartphone coming to China this summer

According to WPDang Samsung is planning to introduce new Windows Phone with Tnago on board into China in June 2012.

The phone will be named Samsung Minuet and probably will have the following features:

• 4 inch screen 
• 1.4GHz. Qualcomm processor
• Windows Phone Tango OS
• (256 MB or 512 MB) has not been revealed as yet.

Samsung Minue will undoubtedly positioned against the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Lumia 610 in the mission to conquer the Chinese Market

The emulator test confirms the presence of Fast App Switching in Windows Phone Tango

With the availability of the emulator for Windows Phone Tango we have the first early experiments that test the new version of Microsoft's operating system and the functionality of the Fast App Switching. Andreas Hammar wanted to investigate if the 256 MB of RAM standard for next economic Windows Phone will use this feature, and the answer is yes, with reservations.

Microsoft has left on the Fast App Switching on WP Tango, so it works similarly to the device with 512 MB of memory, but the operating system is entirely dependent of the  applications.

"The Fast Application switching is supported on devices with 256 MB of RAM.Keep your applications "dormant", however, depends on the remaining free memory: app runs on Windows Phone with 256 MB of memory will be completed more often than the same run on a terminal with more memory."

In Redmond have therefore chosen to preserve all the features of WP and developers the task of optimizing the app and adapt to the smaller amount of memory available. We will see in the coming months, the behavior of smartphone with the Tango and the limitation in RAM will affect the experience of everyday use.

Nokia officially launched the Nokia Lumia 800C in China

A short time ago the Nokia Conversations blog has officially announced the arrival of Lumia 800C in China .

Submitted directly to Beijing, along with cheaper Lumia 610c which will be released only during Q2 of this 2012 , the Lumia 800C will be one of the most important smartphone for the largest phone market in the world.

Nokia Lumia 610 (WP7.5 Refresh) Video Playback Capabilities Differs From Other Lumia Devices

Here is a chart that compares Lumia Nokia 610, Nokia 800 and Nokia Lumia Lumia 900. We analyze the new Nokia Lumia 610, of which many are calling for the differences in performance due to less RAM memory.


As the first point the developers of Nokia have been analyzing the rendering of video playback and found that, although supported, but putting a video encoded in an unsupported codec with hardware acceleration, bitrate or higher resolution compared to the baseline Windows Phone, the software may be unable to play the file correctly.

"Video in a supported format but encoded in a codec not supported with hardware acceleration or at higher bitrates or resolutions than the Windows Phone baseline, may either fail to playback or be rendered in software. Microsoft officially launched Windows Phone in China!

Today  March 21, 2012 is the official date of Windows Phone launch in China,first step in growing the Windows Phone ecosystem by releasing the mobile OS in mainland China.

Microsoft looks to regain some ground in the smartphone war by offering a variety of hardware running the refresh of Windows Phone 7.5 "Tango" (build 8773) in one of the largest emerging markets in the world by launching numerous devices, including the HTC Triumph (aka TITAN), the Nokia Lumia 800c and offerings from ZTE (including the Orbit/Mimosa)

The press conference was held in Beijing, where in addition to showing the terminals available has been presented to the public on Microsoft's mobile operating system, adding that, more than 2,000 apps in the Chinese marketplace.

The launch seems to be going well, we must now see in the coming months as the market will welcome China's mobile operating system from Microsoft and if you have the success that the U.S. giant hopes.
