The Nokia Lumia 710 for T-Mobile is the first Nokia smartphone to run Windows Phone 7.5 in the U.S. and offers an easy-to-use, fast smartphone experience that complements everyday life. Running on T-Mobile's 4G Network and using Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

The Nokia Lumia 710 on T-Mobile it’s now on a “Web Only Offer” for $39.99 (Ten whole dollars off!)- offer doesn’t have an expiration date which would make it seem that this is a bit permanent.

Analysts: 1.3 million Nokia Lumias shipped in 2011

Initially there was talk of less than 500 thousand units , a few weeks after the forecast was more than doubled . Now new market analysis indicates that Nokia may have sold in the year just passed a quantity of 800 Lumia needed to help rebuild investor confidence in companies.
Marketed in Europe since November, the Lumia sold in 2011 could be 1.3 million.
The average is calculated between the projections 22, which in turn vary between 800,000 and 2 million units. Among the 22 analysts, fewer than 21 have reported that Nokia has sold more than 1 million Lumia 800.

Meanwhile, the marginalized Nokia N9 should have reached the threshold of 1.4 million units sold, despite little advertising and a limited edition.

Let's not forget, however, that Elop, CEO of Nokia, has always refused to provide any sales forecast for Lumia, maintaining low initial expectations and stressing that the work would have paid off in the long term.

Nokia Lumia 710 gets 20 percent price drop in India

Nokia Lumia 710 made its debut on the Indian Market last month and the smartphone is already seeing a consistent price cut. Initially launched in India for around Rs 18,999 (380 USD or 295 EUR), the smartphone is now available for purchase for only Rs 15,490 (310 USD or 240 EUR).

Normally, we could wonder if the price drop is because Nokia wants to be more competitive or perhaps the 710 is not selling as well--it's hard to say at this point. But if you are interested in a new smartphone, this must be bargain deal

Nokia Lumia 710 for zero dollars, courtesy of Walmart

Although $50 is a pretty decent price for a brand new Nokia Lumia 710, there is a way of getting the handset for even less.

Walmart is willing to give you the device for free, either in black or white, as long as you do not mind that 2-year contract that you have to sign with T-Mobile.

Alternatively, if you want to avoid the whole commitment part, the smartphone can be purchased for $380. If you want to renew your contract, however, the handset's price stands at $50, which is just as much as it costs at T-Mobile.

Nokia Lumia 710 will be the first Nokia Windows Phone in Canada

The Samsung Focus, LG Optimus 7, HTC 7 Surround, HTC HD7 and the LG Optimus Quantum have been the only Windows Phone 7 devices available in Canada.

All these launched early November 2010. More devices were planned, even Greg Milligan, Microsoft Canada’s Mobility Solutions Manager, stated that “we also see Dell coming into the market as well and some other manufacturers in 2011”. Milligan was speaking of the Dell Venue Pro, but those plans were scrapped.

Now, well over a year later, Canada will be getting a taste of a new Windows Phone. We’ve been able to confirm that the first Nokia Windows Phone device to launch in Canada will be the Lumia 710, followed by the Nokia Ace (Lumia 900).

As for the 710, the carrier details, pricing and release date are still vague – probably will be Rogers, but could also hit Bell or TELUS. In the United States T-Mobile will be releasing the 710 on January 11th for $49 on a 2-year contract, so it’s possible that we’ll have the same price on a 3-year. The no-term might fetch around $375 (unconfirmed). Specs of the mid-range Lumia 710 has it coming with a 3.7-inch LCD display (resolution of 480 x 800), 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 MP that records 720p HD videos, Wi-Fi.

Nokia did minor update to the Nokia Drive

Nokia has recently pushed the update to its Nokia Drive, thereby increasing the version number 1.1.0.1501. No note, however, changes have been added in the description of the application. It does not know what has changed in the first glance.

Basically, one would think it was the update supposed to bring Nokia Drive navigation even without an Internet connection but it is not the case. Some members of the site have verified this effect by disabling Internet connections and data (manually and not via the flight mode which also disables the GPS chip), it does not work yet.In the end, we only know that these minor corrections, perhaps improving the performance and speed of Nokia Location Based Drive.

Note that this shows that the Finnish firm follows good application and that the long-awaited offline navigation should not wait too long
