RoadPilot - Speed camera warning system arrives for Windows Phone

RoadPilot Mobile turns your Windows 7 device into a LIVE speed camera warning system.RoadPilot Mobile  is now available on iPhone OS, Android, Symbian and BlackBerry. Based on system updates "social" members of the community, the app finally arrives on Windows Phone.
Operation is simple: an easy to see, a system that checks for updates at intervals schedulable by us and warnings of speed cameras, traffic light cameras, fixed and mobile stations, including the tutor.
App key, especially when driving in a city that we know little or abroad: in fact also shows us RoadPilot traffic areas for a fee (the famous congestion charge) with clear and precise (voice and text) and a bar progress update us on the distance from velox.
The price is not the cheapest: $4.99 can be considered an investment to avoid fines, but compared to the average of the other applications is still a considerable amount!

Windows Phone OEM's are demanding more UI flexibility on Windows Phone 8

According to Digitimes Taiwan OEM's  have urged Microsoft to provide more flexibility to enable smartphone makers to modify applications and the user interface on Window Phone 8 so that smartphone makers will be able to come out with differentiated devices, according to industry sources.

Apparently OEMs believe that hardware differentiation is not enough, and hence they are making calls for a differentiated software experience, which will most definitely kill the timely OS updates, if allowed.

"Microsoft should count on the launch of Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 to compete with iOS and Android in the second half of 2012, since PC users will be more eager to take up Windows Phone 8 smartphones if they are familiar with Windows 8. As a result, Microsoft should adjust its policy to enable IT product developers to develop applications for PCs, tablet PCs and smartphones, therefore expanding the Windows Phone's ecosystem in a fast manner, the sources commented."

So far the only OEM allowed to customize Windows Phone was Nokia and so far we haven't done anything so far, but enjoyed the very good sales, mainly because of  the commitment Nokia made to marketing the its Windows Phone devices.

Having already had two price drops in September and October last year  ,Puzzle Quest 2 is once more Xbox Live deal of the week. Its price will decrease from $6.99 to $4.99 this Wednesday for a period of one week. Although very addictive, I wonder how this game still makes so many followers, the price being a major barrier to purchase, even as the deal ...

The emulator test confirms the presence of Fast App Switching in Windows Phone Tango

With the availability of the emulator for Windows Phone Tango we have the first early experiments that test the new version of Microsoft's operating system and the functionality of the Fast App Switching. Andreas Hammar wanted to investigate if the 256 MB of RAM standard for next economic Windows Phone will use this feature, and the answer is yes, with reservations.

Microsoft has left on the Fast App Switching on WP Tango, so it works similarly to the device with 512 MB of memory, but the operating system is entirely dependent of the  applications.
"The Fast Application switching is supported on devices with 256 MB of RAM.Keep your applications "dormant", however, depends on the remaining free memory: app runs on Windows Phone with 256 MB of memory will be completed more often than the same run on a terminal with more memory."
In Redmond have therefore chosen to preserve all the features of WP and developers the task of optimizing the app and adapt to the smaller amount of memory available. We will see in the coming months, the behavior of smartphone with the Tango and the limitation in RAM will affect the experience of everyday use.

Nokia officially launched the Nokia Lumia 800C in China

A short time ago the Nokia Conversations blog has officially announced the arrival of Lumia 800C in China .
Submitted directly to Beijing, along with cheaper Lumia 610c which will be released only during Q2 of this 2012 , the Lumia 800C will be one of the most important smartphone for the largest phone market in the world.

Nokia Lumia 800 will be 30-day exclusive with China Telecom

The Nokia 800 Lumia prepares to conquer China facing competition is far from that with the HTC Titan, already on the market, came in first overall. The Lumia 800 will be marketed exclusively by the phone operator China Telecom , the third largest carrier in China. An agreement fairly unusual for the Chinese market in which, typically, the market of smartphones and mobile phones is done through distribution channels released by the telephone operators such as shop producers and many retailers in the area.
The Nokia Lumia 800C , fully localized Chinese version of Lumia 800 and suitable for use with the telephone networks of the populous Asian continent, will not be distributed either by store operated by Nokia. The decision to adopt this form of exclusive distribution is not so common for the Chinese market. While in the USA are the telephone operators to control all aspects of marketing of smartphones, those relating to the device as related services, China prevails distribuition of non-branded devices.
The period of exclusivity with China Telecom last thirty days, while the official launch will take place in Beijing on March 28 . As pointed out on several occasions, China, considering the high population density, is a key market for expansion of both the Windows Phone platform Lumia device.
An exclusive arrangement somewhat similar was recently concluded by China Unicom in connection with the distribution of iPhone 4s.
