IDC - Windows Phone now has 3.5% of the smartphones worldwide market share in Q2 2012


Windows Phone according to IDC now has 3.5% worldwide marketshare.IDC also reports that the success of Android and iPhone OS comes at the expense of competitors in decline,who were market leaders in the past such as Symbian and BlackBerry, both fell below the 5% market share, although the senior analyst Kevin Restivo said that the struggle for supremacy is far from over. 

The success of the Android mobile platform would be mostly from Samsung, which produced 44% of all smartphones based on Google's mobile platform sold in the period under review. Also according to IDC  5.4 million Windows Phone smartphones were sold in Q2 2012 which is 3.5% of the total  market and comparing this to Q2 2011, Windows Phone had a 115.3% growth.

Microsoft changing Windows Phone Marketplace To Windows Phone Store?


Microsoft released today the new revamped  Windows Phone Dev Center   previously know as App Hub,Microsoft  without much fanfare rebranded the Windows Phone Marketplace into Windows Phone Store.

Farewell to AppHub, Microsoft announced the new Windows Phone Dev Center!



In preparation for the rumored, upcoming release of Windows Phone SDK 8 (of which a version has already appeared, as a leak on the web), Microsoft has updated its AppHub,the system through which it manages the submission of the app to the Windows Phone Marketplace. 

The update follows a previously announced maintenance, which has blocked the use of the AppHub all day on Monday.

Starting today,the AppHub was renamed and becomes Windows Phone Dev Center and responds to new address .

Windows Phone 8 - Fast App Switching in WP8 will handle up to 7 Apps (maybe more) instead of the current 5
